If you have ever had sciatica then you know it can literally be a pain in the rear. Sciatic pain can be extremely debilitating as it can cause a lightening sharp pain that radiates down the back of your leg. The good news is that it is one of the most common conditions that chiropractors are known to successfully treat. Sciatica is caused by the sciatic nerve getting pinched from either a misalignment of the bones in the lower back or from a bulging disc. Pain relievers, muscle relaxers and/or injections are commonly prescribed for sciatica. These medications can help on the surface, but they don't correct the underlying root of the problem. It is important to understand that you can’t medicate your way out of a structural problem. Here are three things that we do in our office to address the underlying cause or structural problem that causes sciatica.

Chiropractic Adjustments - Adjustments correct the misalignments in the bones in your back and restore proper motion to your spine. This can take the pressure off the sciatic nerve and allow the nerve to heal.

Spinal Decompression Therapy - Helps to create a negative pressure to pull the disc bulge or herniation away from the sciatic nerve. Also, creates an aerobic exercise for the discs in your back to keep them healthy.

Core Strengthening - Our trainer teaches our patients specific exercises to build core strength and endurance. This helps to support the spine to protect the sciatic nerve from getting pinched again.
